How to play World of Warcraft (WoW) for free

You know WoW, right? That game that costs more then XBOX Live or an internet provider, etc.

It will cost you €15,- now and another €165,- a year. Well, I think this is to expensive. And many people think so too,

so what they did is, they created another way to play WoW, this way is called 'The Private-Server way'

This means that you don't play on the official server of Blizzard (maker of WoW) but on servers made by other people. (so you can't play with your friends if they are playing on the official servers)

You can play WoW on these servers for free! Here's how:

Step 1: You will need the WoW client, this is the CD-Rom that you can buy in the store. (not recommended)              You can also download it from the WouTec Website!  (recommended)

(Step 1½: When you bought WoW from the store, you just need to install and skip step 2)

Step 2: When you've downloaded it from the WouTec Website, you will need to run the file you downloaded.      There'll appear a window called wow installer. Now you've got to choose between 3 options. I strongly recommend that you choose WoW Wrath of The Lich King. Once you click next, it will say: Downloading & Installing. With an processbar under it. You don't need to do anything, just let it fully install. (DO NOT SHUTDOWN OR REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER!)      The installation could take hours, so while it is busy with 'Downloading & Installing' I recommend you to go to the next step.

Step 3: You need to choose a private server. There are more then 5000 servers! It is hard to choose the one that fits you, because there are different types (Blizzlike, Med Rate, High Rate, Instant 80) Here's a list of a few good servers:

Blizzlike:

Spermik

Google

Med Rate:

Woc Server

Search Google

High rate:

Eternion-WoW

Neverendless-WoW

Search Xtreme Top 100

Instant 80:

Eternion-WoW

search Xtreme Top 100

For all Private Servers, the next step is important:

Step 4: You need to create an account on the website of your private server (And write you username & password down)

Step 5: You will need patches. Now this is where the hard part starts. The client that you've downloaded will install the game to version 3.0.1. This is a to old version, so you need to update it. The only problem is, that you may not let the official World of Warcraft launcher install the patches! You need to download and install the patches manualy. You can download them here. But you may not install all the patches available from the website, you need to install the patches until the current server version, you can see the current version of your server on their Website. You can only run and install the patches when the WoW Installer is done with 'Downloading & Installing'

Step 6: When the WoW Installer is done, and you've installed all the needed patches, then you need just one more thing to do: The World of Warcraft client may not connect to the official WoW server, but to the private server that you've chosen. So, we are going to change that location:

Go to This computer > C:\ > Program Files > World of Warcraft > Data > enGB

Now, open the realmlist.wtf in the folder with notepad. You may delete the whole text in this file.

On the website of your chosen private server, you will find a 'set realmlist <.....>' That is what you'll need.

Copy that text (ex. 'set realmlist realm.neverendless-wow.com')

And paste it in the realmlist.wtf file.

Step 7: Well done! It was hard work and took much time, didn't it? I hope it was worth it. Good luck with the game!
